The city can have nice summers, unlike the stereotypical image of Seattle as a rainy city. The rains really start in the autumn, and then, it can rain for weeks on end, pretty much throughout the winter.
Both Peregrine and Xack are aware that long heatwaves, intense rainfall, and frequent flooding are direct consequences of climate change and global warming.
But that's the very reason why they try to deliver positive messages to make people's days a little better. It is all about making people smile through a concept they call ephemeral and impermanent art. It means that they have to come up with new ideas all the time. And their inventiveness is supposed to produce magic...
