about

Our interview takes place in the morning, when everything is still cool and fresh in the fall, and we're both enjoying a cup of coffee at our respective locations.
It gives our encounter a sensation of profound serenity which I can also hear in Shara McCallum's voice. She is a college professor and teaches literature and poetry at Penn State.
One of the first things I do is tie in the visual surroundings to a video chat that is supposed to become an audio podcast or documentary. And so, the scenery of a college campus in Pennsylvania makes it into our discussion which quickly moves from the intensity of the colors of the fall and summer as her favorite season, especially in Jamaica, her home country, to poetry and literature.
