10° What is the first right you would like to stand up for

from Let's talk about it, anywhere in the world # 6: Lee Ranaldo by Radio Aula Mundi

/

about

One of the most striking things Lee Ranaldo tells me that day is that you should be alert to whatever is going on, if you want to be creative.
So, to me, Lee Ranaldo represents the culture and arts of the American underdog, and his artwork tends to make people refreshingly uncomfortable. But that's what its all about, a Baudelairean concept of beauty, completely detached from morals and values.
And our conversation reaches out beyond time and space. So, the location and date of our encounter eventually don't matter.
He and I talk about topics that might be hard to grasp sometimes. But such intangibility is inherent to any artwork, including Lee Ranaldo's.
He practically thrives on it and knows how to discuss it.
